Who We Are

Toni Jones
Director of Education
Toni Jones is the Director of Education for the Port Gamble S'Klallam Tribe. She began the PGST Places program with Hannah Jones via a grant from RCO and OSPI. She oversees the staff and grant process to keep the program running! We are very indebted to Toni for lending her vision, insight, time and energy to seeing that this dream became a reality.
Serene Williams
Lead Teacher and Coordinator Places Program
Serene is Suquamish enrolled and S'Klallam descended. She's worked in education for eleven years, teaching for the past 10. She has a Washington State First People's Language Certificate and an endorsement in Lushootseed. She has experience teaching Healing of the Canoe, Ocean to Table, Lushootseed and Song and Dance.
Serene practices her treaty rights as a fisherwoman, crabber and gatherer.

Hannah Jones
Outdoor Education Manager and Lead Teacher
Hannah Jones is a family member, living on the Port Gamble S'Klallam reservation. She started the Places Program with the help of director Toni Jones, via a grant from RCO and OSPI. After a very successful first year, she was hired on by the tribe in her current position. She has a BA from WWU in English Literature (minor in Spanish), an MA from UMSL in English Literature and two certificates in teaching--Community College Teaching (UMSL) and K-8 WA Teaching Certificate (NWED). She has over 20 years teaching experience, from college to pre-K. The last six years have been K-5.
She is a wool weaver and processor, an author, a native plant fiend , fiber artist and a canoe puller.
